Her stage credits include The Heidi Chronicles on Broadway, Key Exchange at the Orpheum, Split at The Second Stage, The Old Neighborhood at A.R.T. If Memory Serves at the Pasadena Playhouse, The Philanderer at Yale Rep, The Cherry Orchard at The Atlantic Theatre Co. and most recently Lend Me a Tenor on Broadway with her husband Tony Shalhoub directed by Stanley Tucci. Her film credits include Days of Heaven, Gas Food Lodging, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, The Dead Zone, Cuba, Tell Me a Riddle, and Key Exchange. She produced and starred in Made-Up, directed by her husband Tony Shalhoub, and written by her sister Lynne Adams. On television she appeared in Thirtysomething, Moonlighting, Family, The Lion of Africa, Special People the miniseries LACE and LACE II, and most recently, 3 episodes of MONK, starring Tony Shalhoub. She directed a one woman play that her sister wrote and starred in called TWO FACED. It played in various theatres around Los Angeles in 1998. She went through the Women Directors Program at AFI in the mid 90’s. She made her first short film PET PEEVES in 2009. She and Tony live in Los Angeles with their two daughters.
